CVEC is continuously working to maintain a safe and reliable transmission and distribution system for our members. As part of that commitment, CVEC crews and contractors will be working to rebuild the transmission line serving the Wintergreen, Laurel Springs, and Peggy’s Pinch Substations.
Although most of the work over the last several weeks has been performed with the line energized, crews must de-energize the system in order to safely replace specific poles in the existing line. This will require a 6-hour outage* for members served by the Peggy’s Pinch, Wintergreen, and Laurel Springs substations.
The outage will take place on Thursday, August 21 beginning at 11:45 pm. In the event of inclement weather, the outage will take place on Friday, August 22, beginning at 11:45 pm.
