As of noon today, all outages as a result of Winter Storm Blair have been restored. We have had a few outages come in this morning and will continue work to restore power to those members.
Thank you to the CVEC crews, field and office personnel, contractors, and our mutual aid crews from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative for pitching in and helping restore power to our members and to our communities.

As of 7:30am, we have seven device outages affecting 678 members. CVEC crews, along with eight mutual aid crews from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative, are working to make repairs and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
As the temperatures rise and ice begins to melt, we could see a few isolated outages today and are prepared to respond. In the event you lose power, report your outage online at https://www.mycvec.com/outages-safety/report-an-outage/, via phone at 800-367-2832, or using the MyCVEC mobile app.
Please use caution if you must travel today and watch out for icy patches. Stay away from any downed lines or objects in contact with utility lines. Be safe and stay warm!

During a winter storm, it's not just about our team; it's about the strength of the entire cooperative family. When disaster strikes, we come together—sharing resources and expertise to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
Shoutout to system contractors, Pross Construction and Matthews Power, and mutual aid crews from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative for the additional help. They will join CVEC crews once they clear outages in their service territory.

We currently have 763 outages across our system. Our crews are working diligently to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. If you are without power, please take steps to prepare in case restoration cannot be completed today. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to get everyone back on.

We have 1,287 outages across our system, with the largest concentration being in Buckingham and Appomattox counties. We have all hands on deck, along with multiple utility contractors, working to restore outages and will continue to respond as long as it is safe to do so.
The additional weight of ice buildup adds significant strain and can bring down power lines, snap poles, and damage transformers and equipment. Fallen trees or branches weighed down by ice can further damage the power lines causing additional outages throughout the day.
As we go into the evening hours, temperatures will drop and conditions will rapidly deteriorate. Please continue to be weather aware and monitor conditions in your area.

As of 8:15am, we currently have just over 1,900 members without power. Over 1,500 of those outages are due to an issue on the Dominion system that feeds CVEC's Mt. Rush substation. Crews are working to make repairs and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
As precipitation continues today, outage numbers are expected to rise. Please use extreme caution if you must venture out. Keep your devices charged and continue to monitor the conditions in your area.
Never attempt to remove trees that have fallen into utility wires. Assume all wires attached to a utility pole or that have fallen onto the ground are energized.
