Strong storms are moving through our area, and we’re beginning to see scattered outages pop up across the system. As of 10:30am, we have 455 members that are being affected by 3 active outages. The largest outage is affecting members in Albemarle and Buckingham who are served by the Soapstone substation.
High winds, heavy rain, and lightning can bring down trees or limbs onto power lines, which may interrupt electric service, causing more outages throughout the day.
Our crews are monitoring the weather closely and are ready to respond as conditions allow. Safety is always our top priority.

• Report it by calling 800-367-2832, at www.mycvec.com, or by using the MyCVEC mobile app.
• Stay clear of any downed power lines and report them immediately
• Have flashlights and charged devices ready in case of extended outages
