OUTAGE UPDATE: 4:25PM: Restoration work continues today across challenging terrain, with some repair locations requiring crews to hike in and access lines on foot. We’re now down to 14 outage locations affecting 44 members. The conditions are tough, but our crews are tougher. OUTAGE UPDATE: 9:30AM: Our crews continue making steady progress, and outages are now down to 46 locations affecting 622 members.
Restoration efforts remain challenging in some areas due to difficult access and extensive damage that requires significant repairs. With the assistance of mutual aid crews working alongside our own lineworkers, we are doing everything possible to restore power safely and get everyone back on today.

OUTAGE UPDATE: 6:40AM:
Crews have slashed the outage numbers overnight and are back at restoration this morning. 1,154 members are without power, mainly in Albemarle, Greene and Nelson counties. Most of the damage is from wind and fallen trees, making roadways difficult to navigate in some areas.
If you venture out, please avoid downed lines, especially those entangled in fallen trees. More strong storms are in the forecast for today. Plan today to be safe!

OUTAGE UPDATE 6:30PM:
Crews have been dispatched to make repairs and restore power, but the damage is widespread and severe in some places. Currently, 3,916 members are without power and we have 196 active outages. Our crews will work as quickly and safely as possible, but members should plan for the outage to continue this evening and overnight. Be safe and stay away from any downed power lines, as they may become energized.

Strong storms with dangerous winds have moved through CVEC’s service territory. More than 2,800 members are currently without power, with the majority of outages in Nelson County.
All available CVEC crews are dispatched and responding. Conditions and outages continue to evolve as crews assess damage and begin restoration.
