CVEC participates in the college scholarship program sponsored by the Virginia, Maryland, & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC).
The VMDAEC Education Scholarship Foundation Board selects recipients based on a combination of weighted criteria: financial need at 40%, academic achievement at 40%, and personal statement at 20%.
The number of scholarships awarded each year is based upon funds available in the Foundation. Over the last 15 years, over 600 students have received funds for college.
- Any graduating senior whose parents or guardians are members of CVEC are eligible to apply.
- Students must be graduating and accepted at college or technical/trade school the following fall semester.
- The $1000 scholarships can be used for tuition, student fees, room and board, or the purchase of books.
