The Board of Directors of Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC) announced the appointment of William “B.J.” Berglund as a new interim director to fill a vacant seat as a result of Director Roberta Harlowe announcing her intent to retire late last year. Berglund will stand for election at the Annual Meeting in September. He is particularly focused on supporting grid modernization that improves reliability, efficiency, and long-term cost-effectiveness for members.
Berglund is a resident of Fluvanna County, where he lives with his wife, Katie, and their five children. He is the Chief Financial Officer of Outdoors Insight, Inc., an outdoor products company. Holding a B.A. in Accounting, Berglund has more than 16 years of experience in entrepreneurship and small business leadership. His background includes long-term financial planning and capital investments. In addition to his professional work, he attends The Point Church in Charlottesville and enjoys hiking, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his family.
Berglund joins a dynamic team dedicated to advancing the Cooperative’s mission of providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions to its members. Their diverse perspectives will be instrumental in guiding strategic decision-making and ensuring the Cooperative remains responsive to the evolving needs of the community.
