The International Lineman’s Rodeo, held annually in Kansas City, is known for attracting top linemen from around the world. The rodeo, which focuses on traditional lineman tasks and safety, provided Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC) Apprentice Zach Morris with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to test his skills, meet with vendors, and learn from others in the field. He set out with the goal to make CVEC and its members proud—and he did just that, finishing in the top 25% of nearly 400 apprentices in both the Cooperative and overall apprentice categories.
Accompanying Morris was Superintendent Josh Golladay, who acted as his coach and mentor during the event. Additionally, CVEC Journeyman Matt Wilbun had the honor of serving as a judge, ensuring the competition maintained its high standards of safety and skill.
This year’s International Lineman’s Rodeo was not only a celebration of lineman talent but also a reaffirmation of the importance of safety in the field. Congratulations to Zach Morris, Josh Golladay, and Matt Wilbun on a job well done!
