Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC) proudly announces that Francis Caruccio, a dedicated member of its Board of Directors, has earned the Credentialed Cooperative Director Certification from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). Achieving the Director Certification marks an important milestone in Caruccio’s commitment to cooperative leadership as it equips board members with essential knowledge in governance, financial decision-making, and industry trends to better serve cooperative members.
Caruccio is serving in his first year on the board and has a strong commitment to the Cooperative’s mission of providing safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to its members. In addition to his commitment to CVEC, he is a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager by the American Hospital Association, is LEED AP BD+C accredited, is also a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE), and the International Facility Management Association (IFMA). He holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
Caruccio is a resident of Albemarle County, living on a small farm in Charlottesville with his wife and their children. Currently, he is self-employed as a Facilities and Engineering Consultant. He serves on the Albemarle County Fire Prevention Board of Appeals/Local Board of Building Code Appeals and is a graduate of the City of Charlottesville Neighborhood Leadership Institute.
