The Region 9 Council of GO Virginia proudly announced Wood’s appointment, along with three additional appointees at its Annual Meeting held on June 17 at the North Fork Meeting Center. “We are thrilled to welcome these accomplished leaders to the Region 9 Council,” said Shannon Holland, Program Director. “Their insights and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to advance high-impact projects that benefit our communities.”
Wood has more than 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry and has served as President & CEO of Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC) since 2008 and Firefly Fiber Broadband since its creation in 2018.
Receiving numerous awards and recognition for his leadership and accomplishments, Wood has led an expansive initiative to bridge the digital divide and bring affordable, high-speed broadband internet to central Virginia through Firefly, CVEC’s wholly-owned subsidiary.
