Paying your electric bill has just gotten easier with CheckOut. CVEC now offers a new cash-only payment option at participating retail stores like Dollar General, CVS Pharmacy and Family Dollar, making it easier to pay your bill while you're already out running errands.
Search for a retailer near you and present the barcode located on the back of your electric bill* at the register. The cashier will scan it to process the payment. If you don’t have your bill with you, you can also generate a payment code online and save it on your mobile device to show at the register. Payments are processed securely and are applied to your account within minutes, helping you avoid delays.
Using CheckOut for your cash payment allows you to pay your bill while checking out at participating retail stores in your community. This option is especially helpful for members in rural communities who may prefer or need to pay with cash.
The payment processor charges a $1.50 convenience fee per transaction, which goes directly to the processing service and not to the Cooperative. CVEC kiosks at each division office are still available for payment with no charge.
We’re always looking for ways to make doing business easier and more accessible for our members. This new payment option provides another flexible way for members to manage their accounts while continuing their daily routines.
*Barcodes will show on bills generated after March 24, 2026.
