The annual Gaff‑n‑Go Rodeo, held May 15–16, brought together top lineworkers, apprentices, and skilled competitors from across the country to showcase their skills.
DJ Noble, Brandon Hudson, and Travis Burnett had a strong performance in the Journeyman division, earning 3rd place in the “Wildlife Removal and Refuse” event and finished 10th overall out of more than 50 journeyman teams.
In the Apprentice division, Ethan Yancey earned 1st place in both the “Hurtman Rescue” and “Double Dead-End Insulator Change-Out” events, along with a 3rd-place finish in “Climbing Skills.” He finished 11th place overall out of more than 100 apprentices.

Brandon White delivered another standout performance in the Drone Competition, earning 2nd place overall and highlighting the growing importance of drone technology in utility work.
The Grilling Competition offered a different kind of challenge as Tatom Tyree, Scott Chisholm, and Josh Shumaker took home 3rd place in the BBQ rib competition.
Overall, the Gaff‑n‑Go Rodeo proved to be a successful and rewarding event for CVEC as the team demonstrated not only technical skill and safety expertise, but also teamwork and pride in their craft. Congratulations to Team CVEC on an impressive showing.
