H. T. Brown, Jr. has served as a Director for CVEC since February 2008, and has served as Board Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Treasurer. He was the founding Board Chairman for Firefly. During his tenure, he supported policies that resulted in improved reliability and construction of the fiber network. He earned his Rural Electric Board Director and Board Leadership certifications from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). Most recently, he earned Director Gold status, the pinnacle of NRECA’s training for directors.
Mr. Brown is a retired Senior Computer Systems Engineer for the University of Virginia (UVA), as well as a retired Senior Chief Electronics Technician from the United States Naval Reserves. His undergraduate studies earned a B.S. in Computer Science from the School of Engineering at UVA.
He resides in Massie’s Mill and is active in his community through his church and with the Ruritans, Boy Scouts of America, and 4-H Club.
